"It was a fun read and if you like historical fantasy, then you'll definitely enjoy reading Heir to the Luima Legacy. Good read!" - Dawn Husted "If you like your fantasy peppered with a good dose of political intrigue, then I think you'd enjoy this. I certainly did."- Annette Gisby A few people advance beyond their wildest aspirations, and other people descend lower than the expectations of their family and friends. Such was the story of Meryl and Nestor, a story that began in Custodian of the Luima Legacy. Now, the struggle between the brothers continue. Meryl became the King of the Luima because of a series of events that revealed his true ancestry. He also found out that he was the first son of Prince Finnegan, heir to the throne of Bahadi. The Prince had another son, Nestor, who had been abducted by King Arpad of Estruchi. Nestor's uncle and a few nobles determined to maintain Nestor's position in the Bahadi line of succession declared Meryl to be a bastard King, and they recruited a cult of assassins to remove him. The internal feud in the Bahadi royal family was exploited by King Arpad, who convinced the dissenting Bahadi Lords to side with him in launching a war against the dominant Bahadi kingdom. The choices made by Nestor, and the resolutions made by Meryl would determine who would become the Heir to the Luima Legacy. Get Your Copy Now!

Get swept away today by Custodian of The Luima Legacy" - Brian Barber "Filled with royalty, mystery, and action...brings you from the death of a queen to the revelation of a mystery" - R.Ponder Weiss Fastian was the First Minister of Estruchi. He had no living relatives or dependents, except for Meryl, the son of his house keeper, who lived in his house and served as his ward. To the outside world, his life was uncluttered and devoted to serving King Arpad of Estruchi. King Arpad was determined to free his kingdom from servitude to neighboring Bahadi, and he charged Fastian with the task of obtaining the Light sword that he intended to use to press his claims for freedom. Fastian and his ward traveled to Bahadi to steal the Light sword, but in the course of carrying out the King's orders, Meryl's life was threatened. In a bid to save his ward's life, Fastian revealed that Meryl was not a servant's son, and that he was the custodian of an ancient legacy. Get Your Copy Now!

Book excerpt: A Quest for an Enviable Legacy Praise for the other books in the Luima Legacy series: ”It was a fun read and if you like historical fantasy, then you'll definitely enjoy reading Heir to the Luima Legacy. Good read!” – Dawn Husted ” Custodian of the Luima Legacy is a read all fantasy enthusiasts would not want to miss. From first page to last, Poplar's imagery and thrilling story line keep you hooked. (5 Stars) – Michael Thal (Midwest Book Review) There was more to being King of the Luima than a declaration. To become the true King over the wielders of the famed weapons of light, Meryl needed to find the source that supplied the Luima weapons with power. Tales had it that the source was under the protection of the dwarves dwelling in the Massum Mountains close to Ilamti, and that anyone the source acknowledges, would become the true ruler of the Luima. Meryl and Vendry embarked on a journey to find the source of the Luimas' power, but so did Nestor, who heard of their quest, and was determined to regain all that he had lost to his brother, and more. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: By examining the stunning stone buildings and dynamic spaces of the royal estate of Chinchero, Nair brings to light the rich complexity of Inca architecture. This investigation ranges from the paradigms of Inca scholarship and a summary of Inca cultural practices to the key events of Topa Inca's reign and the many individual elements of Chinchero's extraordinary built environment. What emerges are the subtle, often sophisticated ways in which the Inca manipulated space and architecture in order to impose their authority, identity, and agenda. The remains of grand buildings, as well as a series of deft architectural gestures in the landscape, reveal the unique places that were created within the royal estate and how one space deeply informed the other. These dynamic settings created private places for an aging ruler to spend time with a preferred wife and son, while also providing impressive spaces for imperial theatrics that reiterated the power of Topa Inca, the choice of his preferred heir, and the ruler's close relationship with sacred forces. This careful study of architectural details also exposes several false paradigms that have profoundly misguided how we understand Inca architecture, including the belief that it ended with the arrival of Spaniards in the Andes. Instead, Nair reveals how, amidst the entanglement and violence of the European encounter, an indigenous town emerged that was rooted in Inca ways of understanding space, place, and architecture and that paid homage to a landscape that defined home for Topa Inca.

Book excerpt: As the U.S. Latino population grows rapidly, and as the LGBTQ Latino community becomes more visible and a more crucial part of our literary and artistic heritage, there is an increasing demand for literature that successfully highlights these diverse lives. Edited by Lázaro Lima and Felice Picano, Ambientes is a revolutionary collection of fiction featuring stories by established authors as well as emerging voices that present a collective portrait of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender experience in America today. With a preface by Picano and an introduction by Lima that sets the stage for understanding Latino literary and cultural history, this is the first anthology to cross cultural and regional borders by offering a wide variety of urban, rural, East Coast, West Coast, and midwestern perspectives on Latina and Latino queers from different walks of life. Stories range from sensual pieces to comical romances and from inner-city dramas fueled by street language to portraits of gay domesticity, making this a much-needed collection for many different kinds of readers. The stories in this collection reflect a vibrant and creative community and redefine received notions of “gay” and “lesbian.” Finalist, Over the Rainbow selection, American Library Association Finalist, LGBT Anthology, Lambda Literary Awards Best Special Interest Books, selected by the American Association of School Librarians Best Special Interest Books, selected by the Public Library Reviewers
